Конечно, это поднимает на новый уровень конкурс. Да, они могут все петь лайв, даже с хореографией как Эниса из Нью-Йорка, она дышала, но старалась не сбиться, дотянула все ноты в куплетах. Исполнители старались общаться с толпой, забивали на предзапись припевов (у кого были), просто кайфовали на сцене, опуская микрофон, а в этот момент пел их голос куплет. Вот это мне заходит больше всего, что исполнители, или же там прямо работала целая команда самих организаторов конкурса в помощь исполнителям, смогли детально передать все смыслы. Это не мешанина, например, как в кей-попе и джей-попе, где больше красок и больше реквизита, чисто понты. Здесь глубинная проработка, и столько отсылок и пасхалок, что культурному гурману просто сладкий мед. Калифорния устраивает вечеринку на сцене не только в стиле «калифорнийского дома», но и ночного клуба из ГТА Вайс Сити (где прототипом служила именно Калифорния), Бродерик Джонс из Канзаса на полумесяце в облаках (только он без удочки), ставший рекламным ходом и логотипом Дрим Воркс в 90-х (там очень глубокая красивая история), у Майкла Болтона расколотая Земля на Запад и Восток, Стела добавила феминизма своим утробным облегающим костюмом, а Райкер Линч напомнил о своих славных временах школьных побед в «Хоре» (Glee). Но это у жюри. А по сумме баллов только добавился Кентукки, а также прошла наша девчонка из Оклахомы, Алабама и Колорадо (который был последний у жюри!). Ведущие называли места в конце, добавляя последних выступающих в таблицу, и свели афроамериканца из Канзаса, возглавлявшего на тот момент таблицу, и евроамериканца из Теннесси, в стиле а-ля Лазарев – Джамала в 2016 (та же картинка, тот же смысл «свести и продемонстрировать позицию»), но на удивление всех (исполнителей, ведущих, зала, телезрителей), евроамериканец обошел афроамериканца и выиграл Полуфинал. Определенно что-то изменилось в Америке. Это Европа продолжает вставать на одно колено на спортивных мероприятиях, Америка уже другая.
