Углич — Кремль, Палаты угличских удельных князей (начало)

После смерти Ивана Грозного в эти палаты поселили царевича Дмитрия, который и проживал в них до конца жизни, которая оказалась весьма короткой. Вот только весь остальной дворец был деревянным и из-за отсутствия должного ухода со временем разрушился. Палаты, правда, тоже довольно сильно обветшали и их даже предлагали снести, но к трехсотлетию гибели царевича Дмитрия Угличская городская дума наскребла деньжат, на которые здание было отреставрировано, после чего в нем открылся Угличский государственный музей, существующий до сих пор.
